Weddings in Gretna Green, Djs and photo booth hire.
On Friday night I had the pleasure of providing a photo booth for John and Lesley’s wedding reception at Gretna Hall Hotel.
They had travelled from Newcastle to get married in Gretna Green and had hired me to provide them with a photo booth.
I arrived typically early as usual to set up the photo booth and quickly did so in Gretna Hall Hotel’s function room. I chose a corner opposite the disco as it was close to power and was in a good spot.

As soon as the bride Lesley came in to the room she went to have a look at the photo booth and was the first to try it. She absolutely loved it and soon all her guests came through and I started on the busiest night I’ve ever had for printing photos. 185 different photos were taken that night and the bride and grooms photo album became two albums as they had over 100 photos in the first one within 2.5 hours. By the end of the night the second photo album was more than half full.
The guests were completely blown away with the size of the prints and many of them bought the optional photo frames that I sell for £1 each. You also get a nice bag to put your photos in to keep them clean.
All printed photos from the photo booth are free of charge and there is no limit to how many you can have.
Being the photo booth supervisor isn’t really much different from being a Dj. You’re showing people how to use the photo booth, having a laugh and a joke with them and making the whole experience entertaining.
Lesley and John were a great couple, very chilled out, fun and the life and soul of the party.
There guests were equally fun and laid back and it was a really nice relaxed feeling all night with lots of hilarity.
Some of the guests got dressed up as an ABBA tribute and arranged with the Dj that they had booked to spring a surprise on the bride and groom. They looked great in their outfits and were great fun. Somebody commented that one of the guys looked more like Freddie Mercury than Benny Or Bjorn so you can guess what happened:
Here’s the Abba tribute video:
I ended up singing a couple of songs on karaoke at the end of the night and congratulated Lesley and John on their wedding and thanked the guests for a very enjoyable and entertaining evening.
Its really great when you can enjoy your job so much.
Ashley.
