Wedding Dj and Wedding Discos Inverness
Platinum Discos have been providing mobile discos and Djs in Inverness now for many years.
I remember back to the days when The Caledonian Hotel had its massive function suite and we were there the day before Runrig played on the last night before it closed for a total refit.
More recently we provided a mobile disco for the Christmas parties at the Glen Mhor Hotel and have been booked again for Christmas 2018.
In January 2018 I had the pleasure of providing a mobile disco for Shona’s 50th birthday party at The Artysans cafe on Strothers Lane in Inverness. It was a fantastic night with a live band and myself as the Dj. I really enjoyed being the Dj at this party. The guests were so nice and asked for some great requests.
The Artysans cafe is a project to help young people into work and to provide support for them and is a very worthy cause. I couldn’t fault the venue, spotlessly clean, great decor and the food and service were first class.
Another venue I played at recently was the British Legion Club in Inverness where I did a Christmas party in 2017. It wasn’t especially busy and I really had to work to make it an enjoyable night. I took lots of requests and had a lot of interaction with the guests and made it into a very enjoyable and successful night. It was nice that every guest at my mobile disco came and thanked me for a great night. That’s what really makes my night!
I was also the wedding Dj at The Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness a few months back. Over the years I’ve been the Dj at lots of weddings there. The last time I went I was amazed that it’s had a huge refit and has a massive function room at the back of the building which is superb.
With easy access which is a Djs dream I had a very enjoyable night entertaining the wedding guests. The time before that I was there I provided a wedding disco in a function room right at the front of the hotel.
Another favourite wedding venue of mine is Achnagairn House just outside Inverness. It’s a huge house with an amazing function room with a beautiful wooden roof and balcony. It really is quite a unique venue. When you hire this venue the whole building is yours and your guests all stay over in this mansion sized house.

You have use of the kitchens and most brides and grooms hire in a caterer to provide the wedding breakfast. The following day you can use the kitchens yourself. It’s fully stocked with everything you need and I think you organise this with the venue in advance.
The lounge at the front overlooks beautiful gardens and I think weddings here are exceptional. When I’ve been the wedding Dj there I’ve always had a great time and I’ve provided not just the wedding disco and Dj but uplighting or as we call it mood lighting. The function room looks spectacular.
Another favourite wedding venue just outside Inverness is Bunchrew House Hotel where I was only two weeks ago doing Kimberley and Jamie’s wedding. Previous to that I was there in December doing Sarah and Paul’s wedding reception.
It’s a stunning venue that looks like a small castle. Set in beautiful grounds with amazing views out over the Cromarty Firth it’s one of my favourite venues in Scotland. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the food is amazing.
The way they set up the room for the wedding breakfast was first class and one of the best I’ve ever seen. It was an absolute pleasure to work there and Anne and her staff really looked after me and the guests like superstars.

My other favourite venues near Inverness are Bogbain farm which you pass on Culloden moor as your coming down the hill on the A9 into Inverness and The New Drummossie Hotel which you come off on the same junction to get to.
Inverness has so much to see and the wedding venues I’ve mentioned are all amazing. The town centre has lots of shops and restaurants and rail and road access are good.
The scenery around Inverness with Loch Ness on your doorstep and the Caledonian canal plus beautiful mountains make it a fantastic destination if your getting married.
Some other venues a bit further away along Loch Ness where I’ve been a wedding Dj or party Dj include the Clansman Hotel and Glenurquhart public hall in Drumnadrochit where I did a fabulous wedding in 2017.
I was also the Dj at a wedding in Glenurquhart Castle visitor centre on the banks of Loch Ness for a lovely couple in 2016.
As a professional mobile wedding and party Dj I get to travel all over Scotland and I particularly like going to Inverness and the surrounding area.

I have been to thousands of venues in Scotland and I’ve got lots of places I can recommend. Not just venues either, I like food so I can tell you about a few amazing restaurants to go to and lovely walks and the best areas to visit.
One of the best things about my job is travelling all over Scotland and finding its hidden gems.
Ashley.
