Over the years I’ve done lots of wedding discos, and birthday parties in Clydebank, Dumbarton, Balloch and Loch Lomond. I was the resident Dj at Cheers nightclub for a while back in 2000 and 2001. It’s a great venue and I have lots of happy memories from there.
I remember doing an amazing masquerade ball in Clydebank for a joint 50th birthday party at a hotel with an upstairs function room where I had to climb lots of stairs.
Only a few weeks ago I was at The Masonic Hall in Renton which was quite hard to find but is a stunning venue. Not only did I provide the disco but I provided my mood lighting or uplighting as some people call it. The results were stunning. Here’s a photo of it:
Another venue I have been to a lot is Vale Of Leven Golf Club. I’ll never forget the first party I did there as it was the week we had the freezing cold weather and the car park and paths were covered in ice and I had lots of fun loading in my gear without breaking my neck.
However once I got in I had a great party with my mobile disco for an engagement party.
I’ve since been back to this venue several times and every disco I’ve done there has been really successful.
One of my favourite venues in Scotland is not far from Dumbarton and Balloch and is Cameron House Hotel. Sited on the banks of Loch Lomond I’ve always thoroughly enjoyed going here. I think it’s one of Scotland’s best 5 star hotels and I was saddened to see it on the news when it caught fire. I hope it will reopen soon and that I’ll be doing gigs in the Lomond Suite again.
Loch Lomond has lots of great venues scattered along it. Ross priory is a lovely venue and I did a really good wedding there where the bride wore a black wedding dress. I have to say she looked amazing in it!
The Cruin is another really stunning venue right on the banks of Loch Lomond. It has a ground floor function suite, beautiful gardens and views over Loch Lomond.
Lodge on Loch Lomond is a venue I really want to do a mobile disco in. So far I haven’t been there so if your having your wedding there please book my mobile disco so I can cross that one off my list!
Duck Bay Marina which is right next to Cameron House is another superb venue that I’ve done either a wedding or a party in. With waterfront views and a very long history as being the place to go to on Loch Lomond it’s well worth visiting.
Culag Guest House on Loch Lomond is another amazing venue and if you’ve ever been there you’ll know the host and owner Patrick. He’s an Irishman and is so friendly and welcoming and everyone who has been there comments on how nice he is. Culag has a waterfront location and lovely gardens and a really nice function suite and lots of accommodation.
I think that covers most of the venues in Dumbarton, Renton, Balloch and Loch Lomond that I know well. I’m sure there are plenty others I’ve still to visit.
