Best wedding speeches I’ve heard in years.
I’ve been a wedding Dj now for 42 years and I have heard many wedding speeches but I have to say that these wedding speeches from the groom and the best man were the funniest I’ve heard to date!
Before the speeches started the bride and groom had organised a sweep stake as to how long all the speeches would last. It was £1 to enter and the winner was whoever got the closest to the total time!
I’ve never seen this done before at a wedding and it certainly added a fun element to the meal. The Bride made her speech first and unfortunately I didn’t record it. I wish I had as Kimberley was hilarious as was the chief bridesmaid. I started recording from the groom’s speech as I kind of got the idea it was going to be really funny too. I wasn’t disappointed!
The first video is the groom Jamie’s speech:
This video is of the groom introducing the 1st best man Stewart. His speech was very entertaining too and you can see how well the groom and the best man got on. For me it’s a pleasure to see so many good friends and family having fun and taking the Mickey out of each other in a very entertaining way.
The 2nd best man’s speech was fun too, as Jamie the groom had asked me to play a prank on Simon the 2nd best man. Apparently Simon’s children had dared him to do a rap at the beginning of his speech. The groom had been told about this by the children and plans were hatched to spring this on him as he made his speech. I was told about this half way through the meal so I had to buy the song as it was one I didn’t have. I told the groom I had managed to get the song and that the plan was now set! When Simon was given the microphone I started the song as arranged. You can see what happened next on this video:
People often ask me what I love about being a wedding Dj and this wedding really summed it up. I was being entertained by the guests! All the speeches were entertaining and hilariously funny and they all linked very well together. I was at a stunning venue with great views and lovely food. I met some really nice people who were a pleasure to entertain. After 42 years as a Dj, Jamie and Kimberley have to be one of the nicest couples I have ever met. Life as a Dj doesn’t get better than this!
It was a long day for me as I arrived at just after 10am and left the following morning at 4am. But I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience from the wedding ceremony, the wedding breakfast and of course the evening reception where I was the Dj.
