Are you looking to hire a photo booth for your wedding, birthday or other celebration anywhere in Scotland? Platinum Discos provides what I believe is the best photo booth service in Scotland. When I decided to start providing photo booths I watched and asked questions from other photo booth suppliers who I saw when I was doing the mobile disco at the same event.

I wanted to do something much better and unique. The first thing I bought was my unique inflatable photo booth. It wasn’t square like everyone else’s and was black and not white and it looked amazing.

I then had to decide on what device to put inside it. I asked the opinion of other fellow Djs who had photo booths and the general consensus was to buy a product made by Big Fun as their service backup was legendary.

It was indeed the right choice as Chris from Big Fun is incredibly helpful.

I opted for a new product called a photo pod. It uses an IPad Pro as a touch screen and camera and as anyone who has an iPhone or IPad will tell you it takes stunningly good photos!

The steel case contains a bright light to illuminate you and also has led colour changing sides to add some nice ambiance. The photo booth itself also has lights round it on the inside too which change colour.

The next choice was which printer to buy. Most photobooth companies use a Mitsubishi printer but I decided to buy a DNP printer because it made 6×9 prints.

When I looked at the size of prints other photo booth companies were offering I thought the tiny little 6×4 prints were just too small. At the end of every night the guests generally left them on the tables and ended up in the bin. Very few people took them home with them which I thought was a waste.

I wanted to give my guests something they’d want to take home and stick on their wall. My 6×9 prints do exactly that. My photo booth can print a 6×9 photo in around 20 seconds and they really are huge! Everybody comments how amazingly big they are and how good the photos are!

I also can provide a copy of every photo taken on the night on a flash pen/pen drive so you get a digital copy that you can share. I only charge £20 for this.

I also give you a photo album with a copy of every print taken on the day. The album takes 100 6×9 photos. You can have a second album for £20 if you need one.

At the wedding I was providing my photo booth at in Gretna Hall Hotel in Gretna Green on Friday we needed the 2nd album as they took over 150 different photos in 4 hours and printed out just under 400 photos in total. I ask everyone to add one extra copy of their photo for the host of the event and I put it in their photo album. It makes a great keepsake for your wedding or party as you get photos of all your guests.

The photo pod does lots of other clever things. You can add moustaches, hats and other props electronically now with the latest software update to the app. 

The photo pod photo booth can also send your photos to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Email, IMessage and more as well as printing!

At the event I did at Aviemore on Saturday lots of the prom goers used that facility as youngsters these days are all very techy! It was good to see everyone using all the different capabilities of the photo pod photo booth.

The inflatable photo booth is 8ft tall and has a diameter of 8ft too. It fits in almost any room and is very quick to set up. I like that it fits into a smallish bag when packed up and is easily transported. Very handy if your venue is upstairs.
