I thought I’d write a post about the top 10 questions that I’m asked pertaining to dance floor hire.
1. The most frequently asked questions is without a doubt how much will it cost?
The answer is approximately £1.50 per square foot. My 16ft by 16ft white led floor costs £400 and my 20ft by 20ft white led floor costs £600. This includes delivery and setup.
2. The next most popular question is how long does it take to lay the floor?
The answer is no more than an hour as long as the room is clear and access is good. Our fully trained staff are very quick at laying our floor.
3. Will your portable floor separate?
The answer is usually no, but if the floor is laid on an uneven surface or on a carpet with a join in it then it can. This is very rare and we do everything possible to prevent this including taping together the carpet underneath the floor.
4. Will your portable floor remain lit all night?
The answer is yes. We use a very good quality floor rather than a cheap import and it stays lit all night. We put mats over the power cable that leads to the dance floor so that the cable can move and stay attached to the floor and the mats also prevent trip hazards.
5. Is it safe to drink on the dance floor?
From an electrical point of view yes it is. The floor has a low voltage power supply which poses no risk if you spill your drink while dancing on our floor. However we don’t recommend drinking on the floor as spilled drinks make it very slippery so we would rather drinks were not taken onto the floor for safety reasons.
6. Can you trip on the edges of the floor?
The answer is that it is unlikely that you would trip as the floor has a sloping metal edge that has a very low profile. This has been designed to make the dance floor edges only 2-3mm high and gradually slope up to the floor itself.
7. Can you deliver your floor upstairs?
The answer is yes. We prefer ground floor easy access venues but we often take our dance floor up stairs and in lifts. This will take longer of course but we will try and take the dance floor to a holding area as close to the function room as possible so setup time is still no more than an hour. We usually have ample time to lay our floor during room turnaround.
8. Will you deliver a floor anywhere in Scotland?
Yes we will. Depending on how far away your venue is we may charge an additional fee to cover additional fuel and staff costs.
9. What size of floors do you have?
The two most commonly used floor sizes are 16ft by 16ft and 20ft by 20ft. We can hire you a bigger or smaller floor as the panels are 2ft by 4ft and 2ft by 2ft. So as long as your floor is a multiple of 2ft it can be done.
10. Will your floor be clean and well polished?
We always clean our floors and polish them and then buff them so they look stunning. I think our led floors are the shiniest I’ve ever seen. Here is a photo below that shows how well polished our floors are.
