It was amazing to go back recently after my first visit in 1985 when Paul Hardcastle was number one with “19”. It’s amazing how you remember gigs by certain songs. I’ve got 44 years of songs, gigs, places and people in my head. Some very happy memories!

Well firstly I’m a perfectionist and I believe in buying the best equipment and looking after it. This gives you the best possible experience with a led dance floor that stays lit all night and doesn’t separate and a photo booth with the biggest and clearest prints you’ve ever seen and a Dj and disco that looks spectacular and gets everyone dancing! The giant letters that we supply are stunning and not too bright! They are battery powered and consequently can be put anywhere. They are also safer too as they are low voltage. All our giant letters are immaculately clean and all scrapes and scratches are regularly repaired so they look like new every time.

Secondly we provide a 100% reliable service and we are incredibly easy to deal with. Efficiency doesn’t happen by accident it’s planned.

I believe my own personal mobile disco is the best looking in Scotland with the most dramatic lighting, a crystal clear and powerful sound system and a Dj booth that looks classy and neat. I have a huge amount of lighting to choose from and this means I can alter the look of my disco to suit the occasion or the venue. If a venue has a high ceiling a certain light will look better than another and my expertise in picking the right light for the right job is one of the reasons people hire me. Another of course is my reputation for filling dance floors and creating an amazing atmosphere. All the Djs who work for Platinum Discos are experts in their field and are similarly experienced as myself. Together we provide a consistently exceptional customer experience!

Led dance floor hire in St Andrews in most of the venues is relatively easy as all the venues I’ve mentioned have ground floor access which is always a bonus when your delivering a led dance floor that weight 685Kg!

Laying a led dance floor takes approximately 45 mins to an hour and we are becoming so good at it that on occasions we can do it in 30 minutes! Nobody lays a led dance floor as fast as us and that’s good to know as often a led dance floor is laid during room turnaround which lasts typically 45 minutes to an hour.

When doing our amazing £1,000 deal two members of staff will do the load in and set up. One will set up the disco while the other lays the led dance floor and whoever is finished first will set up the mood lights or giant letters. Usually the photo booth or magic mirror is set up in another room so we arrive early and do that first. This has the added benefit that the customers can use the Photobooth while room turnaround is happening which keeps them entertained.

Our led dance floor is made by a British Company based in England and we bought it because it’s the best and most reliable. It stays lit all night, it doesn’t split apart and it’s laid correctly. We lay our led dance floor while it’s switched on which means you can spot a faulty panel if we get one and replace it with one of many spares we take to every gig. We also take a spare power supply and spare edges as we want our led dance floor to be perfect for you.

When I see other people’s led dance floors they are often badly laid, or have panels that don’t light up or are only partially lit. Each panel has 4 channels which switch on and off all night. Quite often you see them with only 3 of the 4 channels working or a panel that’s not working at all.  You’ll never see that with one of our led dance floors.
