Led dance floor hire |Falkirk |Grangemouth
Platinum Discos provides led dance floor hire in Falkirk, Grangemouth and Stirling plus all the little villages and towns in between like Airth, Fallin, Denny, Bo’ness, Linlithgow, Larbert, Bonnybridge, Larbert, Banknock etc.
Although Platinum Discos provides led dance floor hire throughout Scotland we like to provide led dance floor hire locally too.
We go to lots of top local wedding venues like Glenskirlie Castle in Banknock, Houston House Hotel in Uphall, Inchyra Grange Hotel near Grangemouth, Airth Castle near Kincardine and The Parsonage at Dunmore Park.

Its really nice to go back to the same venues as you know the staff and they know you and you know about the access arrangements etc. I save all the venue phone numbers to my phone for future reference too and a contact name so I know who to ask for.
Led dance floor hire is a backbreaking task as at 685 Kg for a 20ft by 20ft floor it’s a fair old weight to carry in and then back out at the end of the night. Where possible we also clean the floor at the end of the night so it goes away clean ready for putting back out at the next hire where it will also get a polish and a buff so it looks sparkling as usual!
A friend of mine recommended that I use Autoglym’s silicon resin polish for my led dance floors and it really does make them shine!
After months of trying lots of different products for cleaning, scratch removal and even chewing gum removal I’ve got a product for every problem.
Led dance floors do require a lot of maintenance, it’s not just the cleaning it’s the repair of faulty panels where the circuit board can go faulty or an edge connector can break etc. I take my faulty panels back to the manufacturer in England for refurbishment and I have a large stock of spare panels to call on if required.
Generally we might only find one faulty panel per gig that we do and as we lay the floor with the power on we find the faulty panels as they are laid and replace them so that your floor that you’ve hired from us is always perfect!
We also bring spare edges, power supplies and anything else we need. We bring 8 Ryobi buffers to every job to clean and polish the floor and this makes life much easier than going down on your hands and knees to clean and polish the dance floor.
I think I’m the only dance floor hirer to use this method but it works so well. With 8 buffers and a full set of spare batteries the floor gets cleaned exceptionally fast and polished thousands of times per minute. It’s definitely a great time and labour saver.
In two weeks time when the vehicle registrations change we will have a new van to add to our fleet as in 2019 we will have at least three led dance floors available to hire and possibly as many as four!
Last year we became overbooked and had to sub in other dance floor suppliers and I said this year we would only take on dance floor hires that we could do ourselves. So we will need an extra van to be able to deliver the extra floor or floors.
I decided to buy another Nissan van as my little Nissan Nv200 has impressed me so much. So my new van will be a Nissan Nv400 the bigger 3.5 ton GVW van. That will take a 20ft led dance floor with ease. It’s also more economical and greener.
As a company we have a green policy and try to use as many reusable products and produce as little pollution as possible and I make a conscious effort to reduce my plastic waste.
Led dance floor hire, particularly for weddings, is extremely popular. It really adds a touch of class to your wedding and provides a very obvious focal point and a superb backdrop for your wedding photographs and your first dance!

We encourage you to cut your wedding cake in the middle of the dance floor as it makes such a good backdrop for your photos as in the photo above taken at The Principal George Hotel in Edinburgh.
One thing we really want to discourage is drinking on the dance floor. Even on a plain wooden floor drinking on the dancefloor is not a good idea as a spilled drink will make the floor slippery. On a white led dance floor which has an acrylic surface liquid is not a good thing to have on it. Not only does it make the floor slippery but it also can cause the dance floor to short circuit and go out.
Luckily with our dance floor this is only momentary as the power supply doesn’t have fuses but has circuit breakers that automatically reset once the fault condition has been fixed. It’s why I bought this make of floor as this means it stays lit all night!
The Grumpy Joe’s led dance floor I bought is the most expensive to buy, but after doing lots of research before buying it was clear to me that this was by far the best product to buy!
I wanted my customers to have the best led dance floor experience and for me no technical problems!
A question I’m always asked is how long does it take to lay a led dance floor? Well we generally lay them in under an hour with ease. We can lay them in 30 minutes on occasions, even the big 20ft by 20ft led dance floor.
The key to laying a floor quickly is to get the dance floor in its flight cases as close to the place where it’s going to be laid! To that end we arrive early and if possible store the dance floor just outside the function room. This means that as soon as room turnaround is in progress we can wheel the flight cases in and start laying the floor.
What you can do to assist us and the venue staff is encourage your guests to leave the function room as quickly as possible so the tables can be cleared and the dance floor laid.
Please also ask your guests not to block the doorways which for some unknown reason is always where people congregate. This slows down the room turnaround for the venue staff and us. When pushing big heavy flight cases you have to be very careful and from a safety point of view a clear entrance hall is perfect.
Led dance floor hire is quite expensive at £450 for a 16ft by 16ft white led dance floor and £600 for a 20ft white led dance floor. This is down to the cost of purchasing the floor. I think from memory a Grumpy Joe’s 20ft led dance floor is around £15,000 to buy.
